Audi Australia has finished the first quarter of 2007 with an all-time record
result of 1,931 units.
Managing director, Joerg Hofmann, says the result is ‘outstanding’ and
equates to a 41 percent increase over YTD March 2006 results.
“During the month of March, we sold 618 cars, a 34 percent increase compared
with the same month last year,” Mr Hofmann said.
“In summary, we finished the first quarter in 2007 with sales 41 percent
ahead of last year, making Audi the fastest growing luxury car brand in
Australia.”
Strong performers in the Australian market included the new Audi TT and the
Q7 SUV.
On the launch calendar this year are models such as the new Audi A6 allroad
quattro, Audi TT Roadster, S3, new A5 Coupe and the iconic R8 sports coupe.
Along with key new product entering the Australian market in 2007, Audi will
also target sailing, golf and culture as its major brand campaigns to support
further growth in Australia.
Expecting sales growth of at least 10 percent in 2007, Audi is planning
significant investment into raising image and awareness in Australia, and
targeting conquest sales through key major events like its Audi Sydney Harbour
Regatta, Audi Hamilton Island Race Week and sponsorship of the Sydney Theatre
Company’s ‘Actor’s Company’ to give some examples.
Further, more than $30 million will be invested by key Audi dealerships this
year including a $10 million plus development in Five Dock, Sydney – the first
Audi Terminal in the world.
