Subaru Australia has appointed Graeme Woodlands to the newly created role of General Manager – Marketing.

Mr Woodlands was previously General Marketing Manager, Marketing and Sales, of the Ford Motor Company in Australia.

He had 16 years experience at Ford in a wide variety of roles, both locally and overseas.

This included responsibility for bringing the Ford Territory to the market in 2004.

From 2000-2002 he was based in Dearborn, Michigan, U.S.A, firstly as Manager, Business Strategy, for Ford Asia-Pacific, then as Manager, Marketing and Sales, for Ford Financial International.

Nick Senior, Managing Director, Subaru Australia, said: “Graeme has a wealth of experience in the automotive industry both locally and overseas.

“His experience extends to sales, marketing, finance and accounting, information technology, people management, logistics, manufacturing and retail.

“Graeme’s appointment comes as Subaru enters a new phase in Australia with the addition of a fifth model to our line-up in November, the Tribeca, which will bring a whole new audience to the brand.

“This will offer even greater opportunities to Subaru at a time when the brand has achieved 10 years of record growth and Australia is established as the third biggest market worldwide.

“Our marketing activities have expanded to support this growth and it is a measure of marketing’s strategic importance within Subaru that this new General Manager role has developed.”

Toby O’Bree will continue in his role as Subaru’s National Marketing Manager
