It was the most powerful Golf ever – the 6-cylinder R32. Powered by a 177 kW
(241 bhp) engine, it was first launched in August 2002 and three times as many
vehicles were sold than originally planned.
Now comes a new R32 based on the Golf V. This time it packs a 3.2 litre V6
184 kW engine under the bonnet and the permanent 4MOTION four-wheel drive again
promises excellent road holding. Similar to the previous model, the new R32
retains design and features unique to this model.
The vehicle has a top speed of 250 km/h and comes with either a 6-speed
manual gearbox or the optional dual clutch gearbox (DSG). Equipped with the DSG
it is even faster: 6.2 instead of 6.5 seconds from 0-100 km/h.
The new Golf R32 will make its world premiere at the 59th Frankfurt Motor
Show (15-25 September).
