In March 2005, the Chrysler Group achieved its 11 millionth people mover sale,
21 years after inventing the vehicle segment.
Since inception the people mover has forever changed family transportation
and the automotive landscape of highways and driveways around the globe.
The Chrysler Voyager has enjoyed strong sales in Australia since its local
launch in 1996 with over 9,000 units sold, considerably raising the profile of
the Chrysler brand in the country.
"Chrysler Group is proud to be the inventor of the modern people mover, and

preferred vehicle,” said Gerry Jenkins, managing director, Chrysler Jeep
Australia.
"The people mover fills a niche that no other vehicle can. For flexibility,

said Jenkins.
In the last 21 years, the Chrysler Group has introduced more than 50 people
mover-first features, won more than 150 industry-wide people mover accolades and
sold 11 million people movers in over 70 countries worldwide.
Today, with the Stow 'n Go seating and storage system, the Chrysler Voyager
continues to set the industry benchmark, offering easy, fold-in-the-floor second
and third-row seating and an additional 340 litres of storage space when all the
seats are in the upright position.
Still proving a hit with Australian families, the Chrysler Voyager has
enjoyed strong sales of 233 units in the first quarter of 2005.
People movers are the Chrysler Group’s highest volume vehicle in
international markets with 8,693 units sold in the first quarter of 2005.
In the U.S. people mover sales account for about one out of every 15 new
vehicles sold with Chrysler Group products accounting for 34 per cent of the
U.S. people mover market segment in 2004.
The Chrysler Voyager people movers sold in Australia are built at Magna Steyr
in Graz, Austria.
